Air traffic in Norway still significantly lower than before the pandemic

The number of passengers at Norwegian airports increased by 200% in February compared with February 2021. But it was still 42% lower than in 2020.

In total, there were 2.4 million air passengers in February 2022, figures from Statistics Norway (SSB) show. In the same month, in 2021, there were 808,900 passengers.

As in January, the increase in the number of passengers was greatest for international flights. The number of passengers on flights to and from abroad amounted to 758,000 in February 2022, an increase of 1,119% compared with the same month the year before.

At the same time, there were 1.7 million passengers on domestic flights, an increase of 124%.

Freight transport by air, on the other hand, fell by 5% compared with February 2021.
