The aircraft maintenance engineers’ strike continues – it will be further escalated on Monday. For the time being, all flights run as normal when it comes to Norwegian and Widerøe.

“So far, none of our flights are affected by the strike, and it has no consequences for our passengers,” press contact Silje Glorvigen in Norwegian told NTB.

However, changes may occur during the day.

“It is too early to say anything about today’s developments,” Glorvigen added.

Escalation expected

Between Friday and Saturday, 31 aircraft maintenance engineers went on strike, and another 75 will join them on Monday morning.

Widerøe’s flights are also not affected as of Monday morning, but this may change during the day, according to communications manager Catharina Solli.

She pointed out that she does not currently have information on which aircraft maintenance engineers will be part of the escalation.

“No flights are affected now, but I can not rule out that something could occur during the day. We plan for normal operations and try to get the planned maintenance carried out in the normal way,” Solli told NTB at 7:30 AM.
