The alarm company Verisure has decided to pay the fee of NOK 766 million for illegal cooperation with the competitor Sector.

The Norwegian Competition Authority announced the information in a press release on Tuesday. In November last year, the Competition Appeals Board upheld the Competition Authority in the case.

Still, Verisure does not agree with the case’s outcome and insists that there was no illegal cooperation.

“However, we have chosen not to appeal the Norwegian Competition Authority’s decision to the Court of Appeal and instead pay the fine.

“This means that we can put an already long process behind us, so that we can focus fully and completely on delivering security to our customers,” press officer Glenn Støldal wrote in an email to NTB.

With that, the Authority’s decision is now final.
