According to Foreign Minister Anne Linde, all deployed personnel who were evacuated from the Swedish embassy in Kabul in Afghanistan are back in Sweden.
During the night, the staff at the Swedish embassy in Kabul from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swedish Migration Board, the Police Authority, and other agencies has been evacuated to Stockholm.
“They have landed and are safe. Thank you so much for your efforts, and welcome home!” Linde wrote on Twitter.
The evacuation efforts focused on a total of 19 people, according to Linde. The local employees that the Swedish government also wants to get out of the country are still in Afghanistan.
