Vaccination coverage for children and young people in Norway is consistently very good, and has been stable over time, figures from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health show.

The Norwegian Vaccination Registry (SYSVAK) shows that more than 90 per cent of all 2-to-16-year-olds have received the vaccines recommended in the child vaccination program, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) reports on Thursday.

“It is gratifying that so many accept the offer, both for the children to be protected against illness, but also because through high vaccination coverage, the number of new carriers is reduced as much as possible and in the long term also the spread of infection,” says senior consultant Didrik Vestrheim at FHI.
