From 1 July it is possible to vote for the autumn local Council and County Council elections. The offer is intended to ensure that everyone who wishes can cast their vote.

The municipal Council and County Council elections will be held on Monday 9 September, but if you do not have the opportunity to vote on election day or in the ordinary advance voting period, you can contact your municipality to agree on the time for voting, the Election Directorate informs.

Some municipalities offer voting during ordinary opening hours, and here it is just to turn up. It is the individual Council that accepts pre-votes and decides where and when it is possible to do so.

It is also possible to deliver advance votes from July 1 from abroad, on Svalbard and Jan Mayen.

If you vote abroad, election cards are not used. The only thing you need to bring here is credentials.

Abroad, you can vote in advance at the foreign service missions – Embassies and Consulates.

The ordinary pre-voting period starts on Monday 12 August and runs until Friday 6 September.
