An argument with a passenger ended with a taxi driver in Stavanger being reported to the police and getting his driver’s license revoked. The reason for this is that he drove several kilometers with the customer on the roof at high speed.

The incident happened after midnight, at the start of Good Friday in Stavanger. The police said that the taxi driver called them and complained about the customer as he drove towards the police station with the man on the roof.
– The customer has managed to hold on, even though the driver drove at a relatively high speed. The taxi driver never mentioned that there was a man on the roof of his car when he called us, so the matter took a new turn when the police ran to help him with the troublesome client, operations manager Tor Helge Hallstavik in South West Police says to NTB .
– When our patrol arrives, the customer has gotten down from the ceiling and is pretty wound up after the incident. We bring this up with the driver and take away his license. He will of course be reported for the careless driving. This is highly dangerous, the operation manager continues.
He estimates that the highly unusual taxi trip has lasted between six and seven kilometers from the town Jatta to the police station in Lagårdsveien. Along the way the driver have kept a speed of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
