Technology entrepreneur and investor Fredrik Halvorsen has announced his move from Norway to Switzerland, the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv reports.

Halvorsen is thus following in the footsteps of Aker owner Kjell Inge Røkke. Both are now officially resident in the Lugano district of Switzerland, the newspaper writes.

Halvorsen had a fortune of NOK 560 million in 2020 and paid NOK 5.6 million in tax, according to Dagens Næringsliv. However, Kapital has estimated his fortune at NOK 1.4 billion.

Halvorsen was one of three founders of the video conferencing company Acano, which was sold to the IT company Cisco in 2016 for NOK 6 billion. The 48-year-old has also worked for shipping billionaire John Fredriksen. He now runs the investment company Ubon Partners.

Halvorsen thus joins the ranks of Norwegian billionaires who recently announced their move to Switzerland, which is known for its favorable tax regime.
