Ap launched 83 measures to counter weak support.
‘’These are exciting times in Norwegian politics. A little too exciting, one could say’’ said Ap leader, Jonas Gahr Støre.
“I would be the first to say that Ap isn’t doing well in the polls” said Støre during the party’s biannual summary on Wednesday.
He also used the opportunity to criticise the majority government,
where he believes that the four parties on a case by case basis go in their own directions, as with the question of toll.
“They put the whole government platform into play” the Ap leader
pointed out.
The Ap’s list of proposals was topped off by strengthening efforts for full-time, permanent employment, and removing access to temporary employment.
In addition, Ap will ask the government for a power review to ensure a more even balance of power between employees and employers and to implement competence reform to get more people into work.
The proposals were launched at a press conference on Wednesday.
Many of the measures, however, are known from before.
Ap is ready for its worst local election results ever. Several of the party’s mayors say party leader, Jonas Gahr Støre is struggling to reach out to voters and call for more clarity and an offensive attitude wrote Klassekampen newspaper.
In Bergen, Ap may have its worst choice since 1925 according to TV 2. A new survey shows that only 16.9% will now vote for the party in the city, compared with 37.8% four years ago.
