Arendal: Man charged with murder or complicity in murder of Ørjan-Helmer Gundersen Solum

The police in Agder have arrested and charged a man in his 30s for the murder of 24-year-old Ørjan-Helmer Gundersen Solum in Arendal in the spring of 2020.

Solum was found dead in the in Arendal on May 19 this year, after being missing for almost two months.

“The accused is known to the police from before and has been questioned as a witness in the case. 

“The police do not rule out further arrests in the case,” police lawyer Vanja Bruvoll in the Agder Police District noted in a press release.

The autopsy report that came in September stated that Solum probably died of drowning but that the cause of death was uncertain. 

On December 1, the police in Agder reported that their hypothesis was that he had been subjected to a serious criminal act and that they were investigating specific persons.
