A group of around 15 Norwegian citizens is on its way to Norway after flying out of Kabul in Afghanistan, Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday.

“They’re traveling on a special Qatari flight. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has arranged for Norwegian travelers to take advantage of the offer,” Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (AP) wrote in an email to NTB.

According to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK), the plane arrived in Doha with the group on Monday night.

All of the approximately 15 Norwegian citizens have an ethnic connection to Afghanistan.

“I am glad we have been able to help a group of Norwegians get out of Afghanistan. The travelers include families with children,” Huitfeldt told NTB.
