The Norwegian Medicines Agency has received a total of 12,836 reports of suspected side effects after corona vaccination. That is 505 more than a week ago.

According to the Norwegian Medicines Agency, a total of 1,050 of the almost 9,000 reports that have been processed are described as serious. This number has increased by 104 in the last week.

Furthermore, 7,808 of the cases are, so far, described as not serious.

Serious incident reports are processed first. Therefore, the figures do not give a correct picture of the distribution between serious and non-serious incidents, the Norwegian Medicines Agency stated on Friday.

High blood pressure

A total of 16 cases of high blood pressure have been reported as suspected side effects after vaccination with the Pfizer vaccine and one case after the Moderna vaccine. The patients were between 28 and 98 years old, and two were men.

“It has not been clarified whether high blood pressure can be linked to the vaccine, but we inform about these cases so that doctors and patients are aware of the possibility of severely high blood pressure that requires treatment in people who have recently been vaccinated,” Steinar Madsen of the Norwegian Medicines Agency noted.

The adverse reaction reports received did not lead to changes in the recommendations for the Pfizer vaccine and the Moderna vaccine.
