Everyone over the age of 45 should have been offered a third dose of the corona vaccine by mid-January. However, 670,000 people in Norway over 45 years of age still have not received the third vaccine dose.

There are 2,361,359 people over the age of 45 in Norway. Out of those who have been fully vaccinated, more than 670,000 people have not received the third dose.

Some of them have been infected before and do not need a third dose, according to the FHI’s Preben Aavitsland.

After a calm Christmas, the number of infection cases has risen at the beginning of 2022. On Thursday, 7,879 new cases of infection were registered in Norway, the third-highest daily number of cases so far in the pandemic.

On Wednesday, there were 295 corona patients admitted to Norwegian hospitals, 91 of them in intensive care.
