Due to the Coronavirus situation in Norway, more than 250,000 contracted hospital treatments for other patients have been put on hold, according to a survey by VG.

The figures the newspaper has collected from Norwegian health authorities show that at least 252,338 patient appointments have been postponed since 1 March.

The postponements are either due to the fact that the health authorities themselves postponed the agreement, the patient has postponed or that the patient has been ill.

As the contagion situation gradually appears to be less severe, work on getting all the agreements started will begin.

Several health authorities have changed appointments from physical attendance to conduct meetings via telephone or video.
