Bane NOR is postponing the construction of a new double track project between Oslo S and Bryn. The work is now scheduled to start in 2027, according to a Bane NOR press release.

Originally, construction was scheduled to start in 2022. The reason for the postponement is that the final processing of the plan has not been completed.

Thus, the entire project must be postponed until a new digital signaling system (ERTMS) at Oslo S is in place.

The project is controversial because about twenty houses at “Hylla” in Vålerenga must be demolished. Bane NOR has now offered to buy out the residents in the area.
