A total of 273 new corona-infected people have been registered in Bergen in the last 24 hours.

“There has been a 54% increase in the average infection rate in the last seven days. The age distribution remains stable. In the last 24 hours, 22% of infection cases among children and young people were under the age of 20, 65% were in the age group 20–49 years, while 13% were among the 50+ age group,” chief infection control officer Marit Voltersvik stated.

She emphasized residents need to continue following the measures.

“An increase in infection in the community will lead to increased leave in the health and care services, and it will challenge the capacity to provide important services to the city’s inhabitants,” Voltersvik said.

In the last seven days, an average of 203 corona cases have been registered per day in Bergen Municipality.
