A 33-year-old man has been sentenced in Hordaland District Court to four years in prison for raping a woman. He must also pay NOK 150,000 in reparation to the victim.
According to the verdict, the rape took place in the center of Bergen in October of 2020. The woman was 19 years old when the assault took place.
The court writes that the 33-year-old dragged the woman into some bushes and raped her. The defendant explained in court that he was very drunk and did not remember anything from that night.
The court agreed with the prosecutor, who had filed a claim for four years’ imprisonment.
In addition to the prison sentence, the man must pay NOK 150,000 in reparation to the woman.
