Bergen: 48 new corona cases reported – mostly among younger adults

In the last 24 hours, 48 ​​people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Bergen. Out of the total, 14 have an unknown route of transmission.

An ongoing infection outbreak in Bergen Municipality has led to 48 people testing positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday.

Of these, 27 are close contacts, 7 are cases of imported infection, while 14 have an unknown route of infection, according to Bergen Municipality.

The infection in Bergen is greatest among young adults, and of the new cases, 21 are in their 20s and 11 in their 30s.

“There is still a trend with high infection rates where young adults make up the majority of those infected,” acting chief infection control officer Kjell Haug noted.

One person has also been infected at Fantoft care center. The Municipality is following the situation closely.
