Bergen Airport Flesland has been closed after a fire broke out in a workshop belonging to the helicopter terminal. The fire has been extinguished.

“Smoke started coming out from a workshop connected to the heliport, located a good distance north of the main terminal at Flesland. It turns out that there may have been a fire in a battery,” Ole Jakob Hartvigsen at 110 in Bergen told news bureau NTB.

The fire has been extinguished.

“The building was evacuated, and we are now ventilating the site,” he said.

The Western Police District announced on Twitter just after 5:00 PM that the airport and air traffic were closed due to the fire.

The police were notified of the fire at 4:42 PM.
