On Tuesday morning, the inhabitants of Bergen woke up to snow. During the day, the precipitation will turn to rain and lead to slippery roads.

The snow has led to problems for Bergen Airport, which has periodically had to close the runway. There are delays on several departures and arrivals.

Crews are out to remove snow, press officer Line Haugland in Avinor told the newspaper Bergensavisen.

In the morning, Vegtrafikksentralen asked people in Bergen to work from home if possible due to the snowy weather.

“It was probably worst for those who got up early. On the main roads, it seems to be going well, but there is slush on the side roads,” traffic operator John Andreas Omdal at Vegtrafikksentralen told Bergensavisen.

After Tuesday, the precipitation in Western Norway will turn from snow to rain and lead to difficult driving conditions, according to the meteorologists, who issued out a yellow warning for ice all in Western Norway on Tuesday.
