All adults over the age of 18 in Bergen might receive their first coronavirus vaccine dose during week 31, i.e., at the beginning of August, Bergen Municipality stated on Friday.

This week, 18,636 vaccine doses have arrived in Bergen, which is the highest number of doses that the Municipality has received in a single week, Health Councilor Beate Husa stated at a press conference. On Friday, she presented the plan for corona vaccination in Bergen.

“Now it’s happening. The vaccination shows us the way out of the pandemic,” Husa noted.

In the coming weeks and throughout the summer, several groups will receive letters with information about registration for the vaccination.

The Municipality will also start vaccination multiple days a week, as larger deliveries of the corona vaccines come in.

“This will not be a normal summer. It’s going to be a ‘vaccine’ summer. We encourage everyone to show up for their vaccination appointment,” Husa said.
