A man in his 20s must spend 120 days in prison after driving 221 kilometers per hour in an 80-zone in Bergen.

In court, another man took the blame, but the Hordaland District Court did not believe him. Instead, the court decided that the car owner was the driver of the vehicle.

“The accused put themselves and others in serious danger of being injured or killed… The defendant’s driving appears to be very irresponsible,” district court judge Tone Raaen wrote.

There were two passengers in the car. One of them was a minor girl. The man also lost the right to have a driver’s license for four years.

“He thinks the sentence is too strict, and he is considering an appeal,” the man’s defender, lawyer Tore Johan Sørland, told newspaper Bergens Tidende.
