Bergen: Man threatens several people with ax, gets arrested

The police arrested a man in his 30s in Åsane on Friday afternoon after what was described as threatening behavior with an ax.

Around 3:00 PM on Friday, the police were notified that a man had threatened a security guard at Åsane shopping center, newspaper Bergensavisen reports.

Shortly afterward, the police also received several reports of similar incidents and that the man in question was in possession of an ax.

On Friday afternoon, the police decided to go to the apartment where the man was staying. 

Operations manager Bjarte Rebnord told the newspaper that the man attacked the police patrol and that they had to use pepper spray. 

The police found an ax in the apartment.
