Bergen municipality and the Network for volunteering gave this year’s volunteering award to the Bergen mosque for – among other things – the volunteers’ efforts during the corona pandemic.

City Councilor for the Elderly, Health, and Volunteering Beate Husa presented the award during a digital ceremony, the municipality noted in a press release.

The award amounts to NOK 50,000 from Bergen municipality.

Bergen Mosque is Bergen’s largest Muslim organization.

The municipality noted that the mosque had been an important partner in the work of informing minority environments about corona and infection control in Bergen.
