Bergen municipality will adopt a local order for a limit of 20 people at parties and gatherings.

– “We see that the advice of a maximum of 20 at parties is not complied with. Therefore, the city council will from today adopt a local order for a maximum of 20 people at gatherings,” says city council leader Roger Valhammer (Labor) at a press conference on Friday morning.

He believes that the much-discussed parties and gatherings lately show that advice is not enough.

– “We must be very clear that this is the rule, and it must be followed,” says Valhammer.

He says that the sanctions for violations of the requirement of a maximum of 20 people at gatherings will be the same as for other violations of the Communicable Diseases Act.

– “There may be fines or more serious reactions, but it is not something we should think too much about. It is the police who have the option of sanctioning this,” says Valhammer.
