Bergen registered 14 new infection cases in the last 24 hours – three new cases of the mutated virus

A total of 14 new corona infection cases have been registered in Bergen in the last 24 hours. Three new cases of mutated viruses have also been detected.

The age of the infected people spans from 2 to 53 years. Ten of the infected people are close contacts, while four have an unknown or uncertain route of infection, Bergen Municipality wrote on its website.

According to the Municipality, two new cases of the South African variant of the mutated virus and one case of the British variant have been discovered.

A total of 26 cases of the mutated virus have been discovered in Bergen, out of which 24 are the British variant and two the South African variant, Helse Bergen stated.

The R-number in Bergen is estimated to be 1.1 without imported infection.
