A total of 55 new corona-infected people have been registered in Bergen in the last 24 hours. Out of the total, 21 people have an unknown route of transmission.

Furthermore, 33 cases are close contacts, and one is a case of imported infection, Bergen Municipality stated on Tuesday.

“The numbers are still high, and hard work is being done to keep up with the infection tracking. Twenty-two of the current cases involve young people aged 19-23. The concern now is that the infection will also gain a foothold in the younger age groups,” infection control officer Egil Bovim stated.

A total of 3,299 people tested themselves for coronavirus in Bergen on Monday. So far, 9,286 people have been diagnosed with corona in Bergen since the pandemic started.
