Bergen sees a decrease in the number of new corona cases

In the last 24 hours, 50 new corona infection cases have been registered in Bergen. That is 21 fewer cases than the day before.

Out of the total, 31 cases are close contacts, and 19 have an unknown route of infection, the Municipality stated on Friday.

“At the moment, we do not have an ongoing increase in infection in Bergen, provided that those who test positive with self-testing are registered,” infection control officer Egil Bovim noted.

Furthermore, 16 infection cases are related to schools, and half of those infected are between 13 and 29 years old.

A total of 2,729 people tested themselves for corona in Bergen on Thursday. So far, 9,472 people have tested positive for the virus in Bergen since the start of the pandemic in Norway.
