Bergen City Council decided that schools and kindergartens in areas with a lot of infection will operate at the “red” level. Several restrictions have also been introduced for children and young people in the Municipality.

On Friday, the City Council in Bergen announced that it would use the weekend to assess new corona measures in the city.

It is now clear that Bergen will follow the recommendations from the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) and implement targeted measures against the groups that account for the largest proportion of cases of infection in Bergen – that is, children and young people.

Therefore, schools and kindergartens in areas with a lot of infection will now have to operate at the “red” level.

Limitations on number of guests

There will also be restrictions for sports and leisure activities – as well as events and social gatherings both outdoors and indoors.

Bergen City Council also decided to prohibit private gatherings with more than two people in addition to household members.

A maximum of ten people can gather at a time, according to City Council chief Roger Valhammer (AP).

The measures apply from midnight and will last two weeks.
