Norway will receive 1 million new doses of the Moderna corona vaccine. A total of 41,400 of these will go to Bergen, according to the City Council.

Bergen will also receive 15,888 doses of the Pfizer vaccine in week 34. In total, it is expected that more than 57,000 vaccine doses will arrive in Bergen in two weeks, the newspaper Bergens Tidende writes.

Bergen is struggling with high infection pressure rates, and Health Councilor Beate Husa (KrF) is happy about the news.

“Of course, we are very happy with all the doses that we receive. The vaccine project team has now sat down to discuss how we will proceed,” Husa said.

At the same time, she emphasized that it is a big job to administer so many doses. It is also necessary to have sufficient time between the first and second dose.

“Many of the more than 30,000 people who have not yet signed up for the first dose should do so, so that we can take advantage of this large delivery,” Husa said.
