The two women who refused to accept fines after a party in Sandviken in Bergen in November last year received even higher fines in Hordaland District Court.

The two women took the case to court because they thought the regulations in Bergen Municipality, which made it illegal to have more than five people gather in private homes, were not justified, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) reports.

In total, the police handed out fines of NOK 70,000 to the 15 participants at the party in Sandviken on the night of November 15, 2020. The two women received fines of NOK 5,000 and NOK 10,000, respectively.

Hordaland District Court not only disagreed with the women but also increased the fines to NOK 6,000 and NOK 12,000. One woman was fined more because she was the organizer.
