Bergen Municipality asked national authorities to include larger construction sites in their corona lockdown rules.
The Municipality has contacted the national authorities about the issue, Beate Husa, City Councilor for the Elderly, Health, and Volunteering, confirmed on Monday.
The outbreak of the South African coronavirus mutation is largely linked to the construction sites at Fantoft station and Kronstad station.
“We ask everyone who has been to the two construction sites to test themselves,” Husa said.
Earlier on Monday, Bergen Municipality said that the sanitary conditions on the construction site at Fantoft station have contributed to fears of a mass spread incident of the South African coronavirus variant.
