When the nation’s bishops gather on Monday one of the subjects up for discussion will be whether  reading from the Koran during a funeral is to be allowed.

During the Bishops’ Conference, which opens in Oslo Cathedral Monday, the bishops will also decide whether Christians may pray together with people of other faiths in a church service or other church action,  Halvor Nordhaug, bishop of Bjørgvin, says to the newspaper Vart Land.

– The Church must be able to view its traditions from a new perspective in which the Christian faith increasingly will not be a common ground for all the members of a family, Nordhaug writes in a letter that is printed in the newspaper Monday.
