A total of 150 people in Bodø have been quarantined after an outbreak of the coronavirus. In the last 24 hours, nine new infection cases have been registered, and ten have been placed in isolation.

“We take this seriously, we have had a peaceful period in Bodø throughout January and early February, and then we have suddenly had an outbreak in the last few days that we are worried about,” Tor Claudi said at a press conference in Bodø on Tuesday.

“For the time being, we believe that it comes from abroad, but we are not entirely sure,” Claudi added.

The Municipality has sent samples to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) for further analysis. The results of these tests are expected towards the end of the week.

The outbreak has had a major effect on schools in Bodø.

“I expect that we will have a better overview of the infection situation during Wednesday,” Claudi noted.

The infection in Bodø has also led to the entire Bodø / Glimt A-team being quarantined due to possible close contact with a corona-infected person.
