Two kittens died after being thrown from a balcony on the fifth floor in Bodø in December 2019. A man in his 30s has been sentenced to 45 days in prison for the incident.
According to the verdict, the kittens died from the fall. They were four weeks old. The man acknowledged the circumstances in Salten District Court.
He was also accused of throwing one cat from the same balcony a few months later, for which he denied criminal guilt.
The prosecutor dropped the charge during the trial, and the man was thus acquitted.
The court ruled that the punishment should, in principle, be 75 days of imprisonment, but deductions were made due to the lengthy case processing time and the fact that the man acknowledged criminal guilt.
