Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende (H) stressed the importance of standing together in the fight against terrorism when he on Monday participated in a memorial for those killed in Lahore in Pakistan .
At least 72 people were killed in the terrorist attack that hit a park in Lahore, Pakistan on Sunday. The perpetrator wanted to strike at the Christian minority who celebrated Easter – and women and children in particular.
The suicide bomber hit “the ones who were most vulnerable”, Brende pointed out.
– That’s why it’s crucial that we are taking the initiative to express our disgust for this action , said Brende told NRK.
The memorial took place outside the Pakistani embassy in Oslo. The participants put down flowers and lit candles.
