The Foreign Minister Børge Brende will this week go on a new tour of the Middle East.

Brende will in the next few days visit Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Palestine, partly to discuss the Syrian war and its enormous humanitarian consequences.
– The situation in Syria has deteriorated significantly in recent months. It is important that there is now added pressure on all parties to respect the agreement on cessation of hostilities and to continue the Geneva talks, says Brende.
The Foreign Minister will also make a new attempt to revive the stalled peace process between Israel and the Palestinians, which has been dormant since 2014.
Brende will include talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
