A bus flipped over on county road 107 Torsøveien at Torsnes in Fredrikstad on Monday morning. The roads in the area are very slippery.

The emergency services also responded to a collision between a bus and a car on the same stretch. No injuries have been reported.

“It is very slippery on the stretch,” the Eastern Police District informed on Twitter.

Several other accidents have been reported in the area, including a truck sliding into a lamppost near Lisleby.

It is slippery in large parts of southern Østfold, Vegtrafikksentralen warned.

“Due to rain that freezes on the ground, there are slippery roads in several places south of Østfold… Show consideration and drive in line with the road conditions,” Vegtrafikksentralen wrote on Twitter.

  1. I was just walking across a very flat un-inclined heavily used intersection next to the train station in a town down on the Vestfold side of Oslo Fjord Sunday at 5:45PM/1745, and I slipped and nearly fell … and would have, if I hadn’t been being *extremely* careful. A light ice-rain had fallen earlier.

Back in Illinois, we call it Black Ice, in part because it is so menacing.

Here south of Lillestrøm, the ice rain has been so dangerous that even the *gravel* spread on the sidewalk was encased in thick ice and dangerous!
