The 33-year-old who was arrested for shooting and killing 43-year-old Christian Halvorsen in Askim last summer has now been charged with premeditated murder.

The man maintains, as he has previously explained, that the killing was an accident and that he did not want to shoot the weapon, newspaper Dagbladet writes.

According to the newspaper, the police do not agree with him, and now the indictment against the 33-year-old is ready.

The man is also charged with violence against the deceased due to a previous incident, twelve cases of theft, and other offenses.

Defender Ole Petter Drevland says the man does not admit guilt for premeditated murder, as stated in the indictment.

“He has admitted to negligent homicide related to a malfunction of the weapon. We had hoped that that would be in the indictment, but it is up to the court to decide,” Drevland said.
