On Sunday evening, the “celebrity” walrus Freya appeared at Vollen Marina in Asker. Thus, the animal may be on its way beyond the Oslofjord.

The 600-kilogram walrus was in the process of hunting a duck when it was photographed on Sunday evening.

On Monday morning, Sjøsprøyt summer camp in nearby Børsholmen will welcome 51 children. Currently, no special measures have been put in place to protect the camp participants.

“We have thought about it a bit, but she has not been near us until now. We will have to look at the situation,” camp manager Viktor Raddum told the newspaper Budstikka.

Should the walrus come by, there is plenty of space for activities on land, he assures.

Both professionals in the Directorate of Fisheries and the police have asked people to keep a good distance from the animal several times to avoid dangerous situations.
