Cemetery in Kristiansand exposed to vandalism, several tombstones overturned

Police are on the hunt for young people who overturned tombstones at Oddernes church in Kristiansand on Tuesday night.

Between eight and nine tombstones have been overturned, the Agder Police informed on Twitter.

This is vandalism, operations manager Lars Hyberg told newspaper Fædrelandsvennen.

According to the newspaper, one cross on a grave was turned upside down. Most of the tombstones have been repaired.

Boys aged 14 to 15 years

The police first stated that the young people were aged 14 to 15 years. According to the operations manager, they are probably even younger. 

The boys wore what is described as black Adidas tracksuits with red stripes on the legs and arms.

The police were notified of the vandalism around 9:30 PM on Tuesday. A search is being conducted in the area.
