On Friday night, the Chechen Diaspora in Norway held a memorial service for the 33-year-old man who was killed by the police on Tuesday when he attacked them with a knife at Bislett in Oslo.

The memorial service was held at the Chechen Diaspora’s head office on Ryen in Oslo.

33-year-old Rustam Louis Foss had a Chechen background. On Tuesday morning, he was shot and killed by the police after he first threatened random people on the street at Bislett in Oslo with a knife and then attacked the police.

In December last year, Foss was sentenced to compulsory mental health care for stabbing a man on Grünerløkka in Oslo in a psychotic state in 2019.

He was on leave from the institution where he was treated when he attacked people on Tuesday.
