Christmas Thieves steal nearly 400 million

December ais the month in which many rubbery cases happening for stores. Active predicts that around 399 million Kroner will be lost during this year’s Christmas trade, predicts active.

In the past month, sales amount has been increased to more than double for many industries.

– With the increased activity in the stores, and many substitutes, it can be difficult to keep track of everything that happens, says security adviser Thor Martin Bjerke from active.

He encourages store management to provide additional training for both employees and temporary workers.

In Norway, there is an estimate for shoplifting to constitute 0.7 per cent of December turnover.

This year it has been predicted for around 399 million lost. Thefts of employees is estimated to be around 211 million. The figures are based on historical figures from the Centre for Retail Research in Britain.

Bjerke says they are popular items that are stolen most.

– Some steal to sell the goods on, and they are dependent on getting goods that people want. “Ordinary people” stealing things is also popular to have, he says.

– In-place and observant sellers are the best advertising for the store.
