Christmas tree lights at University Square (Universitetsplassen) illuminate the Oslo night
True to tradition, the Christmas tree lights at the Universitetsplassen in Oslo were lit on the first Sunday of Advent.
This year there was also a torchlight parade, organized by the Salvation Army, from Jernbanetorget to Universitetsplassen on Sunday afternoon.
The music was supplied by the Salvation Army brass band, and children’s choir, and there was singing, walking around the Christmas tree, an appeal to the people, and a recital of the Christmas story.
The Salvation Army Christmas charity-pot was put in place under the tree.
