In connection with the large military exercise Cold Response in Northern Norway, a comprehensive drone ban has been introduced over Nordland and southern parts of Troms.

The Cold Response exercise starts on Tuesday in Northern Norway. Around 30,000 soldiers from 27 NATO countries are participating in the exercise, which will last until April.

A comprehensive drone ban was introduced over the entire extensive exercise area as of Monday. It affects areas from the north of Nordland, large parts of Lofoten, and up towards Tromsø, according to the National Security Authority’s map of drone bans in Norway.

The ban will remain in place up to and including March 31. It is possible to apply for an exemption from the ban if there are special, compelling reasons for the exemption.
