The Minister of Health, Bent Høie (H), says that trust in Hurtigruten has dropped after an outbreak of the virus that started onboard one of the company’s ships.
-”I think that, in this situation, I have to say that it is their job to take measures. It is clear that they have been one of the driving forces regarding the government opening up for this type of activity. That is why it is unfortunate that we have arrived at this situation.”, answered Høie to questions from TV 2 on Monday’s press conference.
He said that he reacted strongly towards Hurtigruten when wishing to keep the outbreak secret. Høie says that he first found out that they had plans to send out information to people onboard then post an online case report.
-”I was later told that they only wanted to send out information to the passengers, but to not post a online case report. On Friday I was informed that they did not do one nor the other. That surprised me.”, said the Minister of Health.
