Congregations in the Church of Norway to get 18 million kroner in corona support
Congregations in the Church of Norway will receive a special corona grant of NOK 18 million. The money is earmarked for voluntary activity.
The support is provided outside the Ministry of Culture’s stimulus scheme since the Church of Norway does not have the right to register in the Volunteer Register, Minister of Culture and Gender Equality Abid Raja (V) said on Monday.
The Council of the Church of Norway will receive the money, and it will be responsible for the allocation to congregations that have had increased costs or less income due to the pandemic.
