Prime Minister Erna Solberg emphasized that the danger is not over and that we could be facing new outbreaks of Coronavirus infections when she presented to Parliament on Friday.

Solberg had asked to go to Parliament to address and inform about what has happened during the extraordinary situation the country has been in recent months.

– “Norway has experienced the most serious crisis since World War II. The government has implemented very far-reaching measures that have had major consequences for all sections of society,” she said.

Solberg said that the lock down strategy chosen at an early stage of the outbreak has, by far, been successful. But there is still a danger of new outbreaks, both nationally and internationally, she warned.

– “The government has therefore switched to a control strategy. In the future, testing, isolation, and tracking will be important for maintaining control,” Solberg said.
