A corona-infected man in Western Norway admitted to not wearing a face mask when he took a taxi to the hospital on Nordfjordeid. He has been fined.

The size of the fine has not been set, but similar cases have resulted in fines of up to NOK 20,000 kroner, according to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

“Several people have been put in potential danger. There is every reason to take the regulations on quarantine and isolation seriously,” police chief Tormod Hvattum in Stad told the channel.

The man was reported to the police by the taxi owner.

The taxi driver is asymptomatic but is quarantined and awaits test results.
