Corona outbreak in Trondheim: 33 new registered cases

Trondheim Municipality fears a major new outbreak. A total of 33 new corona cases have been registered in the Municipality since Friday. Eleven of the cases have an unknown route of transmission.

In Trondheim, infection rates have remained low for a long time, but the numbers for the last few days are causing concern. 

Since Friday, 33 new corona cases have been registered in Trondheim – a third of those infected have an unknown route of infection, the Municipality stated in a press release on Tuesday.

On Friday, six new infected people were registered, while the figures for Saturday and Sunday are four and nine, respectively. 

On 17 May, 14 new corona infection cases were registered. Furthermore, 1,837 tests were conducted in the Municipality over the last three days.

Municipal director Morten Wolden told the newspaper Adresseavisen that there is an outbreak in the Municipality and that there has been a spike on Sunday and Monday.

On Wednesday, the local authorities will consider new corona regulations.
